I couldn't have created Cave Mouth without the incredible Meghan Wood of Crown of Asteria who provided the music, production and support to bring it to life.

Some background information: I was trying to get my 11 month old daughter Saga to sleep one night and I was feeling horribly depressed. I had tried Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Swedish and English for half an hour but it wasn't working, so I started stringing some lyrics together and Cave Mouth manifested. I scribbled the lyrics in my notebook and vowed to do something with them before I let myself talk myself into believing it was a waste of time and that I wasn't good enough.

The next day I recorded the lyrics, liked what I heard and thought 'this could be something.' So I sent them to Meghan before I had time to overthink things. Thank fuck she loved them and agreed to work her magic with me.

Now, I'm living in a busy house right now, and singing into a mic in the spare room while everyone else potters about and your baby is asleep in the next room isn't an ideal situation for recording music, but I did the best I could under the circumstances despite feeling a tad embarrassed in case someone said 'what's that damn racket?'

I can put my spoken word out there without batting an eyelid, but my singing is another story...so please bear with me. This is all totally new but I'm excited and looking forward to, as one of my friends said, 'training my voice to get stronger.' I want to encourage ANYONE who wants to give something a go, but doesn't think they're good enough, to just try. You might be full of a magic you never knew existed.
